artist statement :
I am a fine art photographer with a passion for portrait and figurative fine art image creation working primarily with vintage analogue photographic processes.
My photography enables me to explore and express personal thoughts with the hope that my work will inspire reactions and thoughts in the viewer.
Working with analogue mediums means working at a slow and considered pace giving a much stronger connection with my subject and therefor my creative expression. Practicing with tactile mediums where each single image is hand crafted is important to me as is producing works that can be appreciated in their physical form.
I use a variety of vintage and modern analogue cameras capturing images as film negatives or onto glass and metal using wet plate collodion process from 1851. From these negatives I then produce handmade alternative prints onto alchemy coated art papers exposed with ultra violet light such as Cyanotype and Platinum/Palladium.

Working from my wee darkroom studio in Perthshire in the Wonderfull Scottish Highlands creating my own style of imagery to get me through this thing called life.
..and finally 'that question'...
q: what make of camera do i use ?
a: who cares, it's all about what i do with it.
“I think that emotional content is an images most important element regardless of the photographic technique"                                                                       Anne Geddes
